After all of these "What is 'X' Status?" posts, there isn't a FAQ?

After all of these "What is 'X' Status?" posts, there isn't a FAQ?
I must admit, I have been ignoring these "How long from the port in Germany?" posts, etc., for years. However, now that I have ordered an A4 (finally! %^} ), I need to catch up.
I ordered it yesterday, which is when the dealer was putting in their monthly allocation anyway. It is first on this month's allocation. He said that it would be a very predictable 3 months until it got here.
What is the timeline? I guess I need to find out what the build week is going to be? Can anyone kinda outline the sequence of events, what the different status letters mean, and generally how long it takes to move from one to the next?
I know that this has been discussed ad nauseum in the archives, but there doesn't seem to be a complete listing of all of the steps from soup to nuts in one place. I was hoping that there would be a FAQ by now, but no such luck.
TIA
Todd W

Still waiting for status myself.
Ordered 08/22. I didn't make last months allocation, and my order went in this month, so we both should be waiting the same amount of time. My dealer told me about 10 weeks,..hmmm, we'll see. That would make it around December 1st.
I don't know all the codes either. I'm going to call back next week to get an order/confirmation number. From then on I'll call every other week to get a status update. I guess when I finally receive the production scheduled build date will be the most important part. It should be scheduled around 3 weeks before the actual build. After the car is built, I hear it should be around 4-6 weeks until the car arrives at the dealer. Here's hoping!
Joe

Re: Was your production delayed due to the August summer break?
That' what they said. I get the feeling they 'held' the order for a little while too! It's been a long (almost) 4 months. It seems that others that ordered the same time have their cars already.
