Ahh... HELP (long)
Got in my car this morning, there were no problems = car ran great, no check engine/oil lights, etc.
I had my windows down b/c it was nice out. I heard a faint clicking that sounded like it was coming out of the engine (it almost sounded like i was dragging a stick or metal, like that sound) but I could only hear the sound when I was next to another car, jersey barrier, etc. b/c the sound would bounce off the wall/car and back into the car.
The sound didnt increase/decrease when i sped up or slowed down. The transmission/clutch felt fine, exceliration was fine, brakes, gas, etc. The sound just stayed constant. As I was driving in heavier traffoc i had all the windows down and it seemed like the noise was getting louder, but nothing too crazy.
So I pulled into a parking garage, parked my car but left the engine running. I nelt next to the front drivers side wheel, and still heard the sound. Then I opened my hood and the noise was significantly higher. Like a clicking sound.
I shut the car off, and this is the weird part... The key was hard to turn off (counter-clockwise), it felt like sticky. I def had to use force to turn ignition off and pull key out. I checked the oil and it was a little low but within OK-range on the dipstick. The engine was warm but no warmer than it would normally be after a 30 min drive. So i went back in the car and tried to turn the ignition over but THE KEY WOULDNT EVEN GO INTO THE IGNITION. I tried several more times with no luck. So i had to go to work and the car locked.
Any ideas/thoughts?
Any help would be much appreciated (and luckily I renewed my AAA membership last week)

- Timing belt changed 2,000 miles ago
- All fluids ok

Re: Would the clicking be coming from the starter?
It didnt sound like the clicking a busted starter makes.
I have heard fried starters in other cars before. It was much quieter and a different noise.
