Air velocity through center 3 vents

Air velocity through center 3 vents
The velocity of air through the two left vents of the center 3 vents is less than the rightmost vent in the same cluster on my 98.5 1.8T. Is other folks' experience? Is this because the left two vents share the same duct?

My experience is exactly the same...I have no explanation for it ('97 1.8T)

Pull out the whole cluster and see why, no clips or snaps, just pull.
