In all honesty, how bad of an idea is it to buy an A4 for my girlfriend?

Default that is tricky if you ask me and I'm certainly no expert

my DD is a 98.5 with almost 130K (got it at 118K) we bought my wife's much newer and it is just now about to hit 90K. I however feel that overall there is something more solid about my 98 and overall it seems the parts are lasting longer before changing them out out too? YMMV.

I also like the euro trunk & flush door handles, all red display of the oder B5's. there are things like her headlights and such that would be nice but overall I wouldn't trade her.

We joke about trading all the time and when I tell her I'd have to switch so much stuff between the two cars before I'd even drive it everyday and then she counters with you are not taking one thing off my car we both LOL and then drop it.

Do you want the Tip or are you settling? Or she not into MT? If she will do a MT don't settle!

Default Have a local dealer to a full point inspection.. look at the records..

with low miles like that and Tip.. sounds like a sure win for the money.

The dealer should be able to check for sludge as well.

Sounds like a solid deal, that is if the inspection comes back clean. Buy a car fax report as well.. it is never by any means 100% accurate but it will give you some info on the cars history.

I say go for it. GIAC chip it for some more (needed) power and better gas mileage.

Default '01s have weak coilpacks, tend to fail often, leading to misfires...however they are the cheapest

and easiest to deal with. I'd spend the $120 and replace them preemptively every 50-75k

Default It's a different coilpack for '01-'05 1.8T cars. it's a $25 part from Carson.

just keep a spare in the car at all times.

don't make that keep you from buying an '01+
