All I GET IS HOT AIR!!!!
Ok on my 96 A4 2.8 the only air that comes out of the vents is warm, even when I have it set for the outside air and the temp read out says Lo. Now I know people say that the 96's are prone to evaporator issues but the only reason why I do not think I have that is because when I have it set to bring in the outside air and I turn the temp all the way to Lo it still blow very warm air and it is 45 F outside. I checked our other 3 cars and they all blow cold air out. Has anyone experienced this??

Or an exterior temp sensor failure...
if the computer thinks it's -30F outside and 45F inside, it will always supply heated air. Note, the climate control might not use the same ext. temp sensor as your gauge on the instrument panel, so just because your dash gauge reads the correct ext. temp., don't rule out a bad ext. temp sensor.
Best thing to do is to hook it up to a vag.com, and scan the HVAC module for codes. Hopefully that will tell you weather the motor for the "flap" is dead or the temp sensor is dead.

Re: Or an exterior temp sensor failure...
RKA, I am still new to Audi's but is the vag.com the OBDII scan tool? Nothing has come up or thrown a code. And another dumb thing what is the HVAC? Thanks for your help. I hope this will be easier than an evaporator!

Yes...but much much more.
Go to www.ross-tech.com for more info. A typical OBDII scan tool won't pick up any codes thrown by the HVAC system (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Cond). In fact your car has a lot of diagnostics built into it that a basic OBDII scan tool will never pick up. vag.com can tap into all these different modules, and pull the codes, clear the codes, capture and log data from hundreds of measuring blocks available, and run diagnostic output tests on some of the equipment in your car. If you intend to do your own work on the car, this tool is invaluable.
If you take it to the dealer, they'll charge you ~$30 to scan the codes off the ECU. It's also worth noting that a lot of codes can get thrown, but won't register with a Check Engine Light.
Unfortunately, if there is no code for the motor/flap or the temp sensor, I'm not sure where to go from there.
