another squeaky armrest solution :-) ...
... i've read about others complaining about their squeaking armrests. mine has recently started to do it, too. it's annoying to lean on it slightly and hearing it squeak and chirp back at you.
my solution: i used 400 grit sand paper and rubbed down the bottom lip of the open armrest along with the latch nook and the latch itself. i didn't have to do it much and it was just enough that the plastic didnt squeak any more. plus, not having to use silicone or some other fluid means no muss.

I may have to try that...
My solution was two inch long foam strips on either side of the armrest up near the latch. It sure was annoying to have that thing squeak everytime I put my arm on it AND when I took it off!
