Default any consensus on immobilizer.. can i simply swap and put in a spare chipped ecu?

or do you need to recode it with this 4 digit immobilizer number.. the spare ecu is used from another a4.

Default no after doing a search some people are talking about

some pretty extensive immobilizer recoding process whereby you have to program a second ecu to work with the car, you need to access the imm. function with the vag tool, read the vin from it, and then obtain a 4 digit code from AOA. The thing is some say it exist and others say it doesn't. Most seem to be referring to A6's, but some do on the A4's do.. what is everyone's experience when installing a spare chipped ecu?
