Any experience w/ adding subwoofer to bose?

i added a box with three 10" MTX 5000 subs. i had it installed at a sterio place but i know they ran it off the rear speaker. it sounds good but it requires some real adjustment on the amp. the best way to do it would be to not use the stock head unit like i did. with an aftermarket head unit, you could wire the subs from there and have more ability to adjust it with the sub controls on the receiver. mine has some random bass that sounds like a heartbeat even whent the volume is off. i have to work that out but otherwise it is decent. e-mail me if you have any questions.
