Thinking about selling mine.. in MD
I have been thinking of selling mine, but I may be out of your milage range (135k) Let me know if you are interested. 1997.5 Red A4 1.8TQ Manual with sport package. Just had the timing belt service done, to include new snub mount, valve cover gasket, air filter DV and radiator fan (mine had a chip in it). The mech that worked on my car over at Induktion said everything looked clean under the hood, and no major issues. Brakes and rotors will be replaced in the next 2 weeks. Mystery chip (PO said APR) and Nuespeed short shifter are the only mods.

Not really planning to sell mine. But for $10k you can have it.
Fits your needs perfectly. 114k miles. TB & water pump done recently (110k). Both rear wheel bearings done within the last 3 years.
Lightly modded (brakes, suspension, chip, exhaust). Very good condition. Rare color.
And I'm in the northeast too. (CT to be more specific.)

97 a4 1.8t quattro sport in burlington vt
Needs A LOT of work but has a lot of goodies. Solid body with about 100,000 on it. Motor only has about 65,000... was a crate 1.8t from europe. APR stage 3 kit installed when motor swap was done. has been garaged for 19 months. stage 2 porsche boxter s calipers from ecs (probably close to needing pads and s8 rotors), euro xenons, abt front mount, h&r race, 18in OZ sl's (2 S03's with some good rubber left), 17in ace lolas, heated sport seats in good condition, lots of other little extras such as vag com cable from ross tech, misc parts, etc. needs new bilstiens, needs all control arms and tie rods done, needs new front bumper (was rs4), needs rear pads and rotors, engine probably needs a lot of TLC since it has only been driven around the yard over the last 19 months. it was running good when it was parked but had some issues with pinging and timing being pulled in hot humid weather. peak boost seemed a lot higher then other stage 3 kits, however, nobody could ever seem to figure it out. it was even gone through by an APR tuner in NH and they said everything was fine after having the car for a week and working with APR. i got the car back and ran some logs and it was still pulling some timing and hesitating when it shouldn't. a whole lot of nothing for close to a $1000. when it ran right, it was fast as hell... when it wasn't running right... it was still fast but not as smooth as it should've been for the work that went into the engine. my opinion is it needed to be de-tuned, to run less boost. eventually parked the car out of frustration of spending 15,000 on engine swap and stage III kit and ending up with a car that didn't consistantly perform like it should've. there is a lot of history with this car and a lot has been put into it over the years.
so, it is up for sale for someone looking for a project, parts car, hill climb / rally car. with some tlc and 5 or 6k put correctly put into it, it could be the sick car it once was.
I'm looking to get in the ballpark of $4,000 (or possibly OBO) since I still owe $10,000 on the engine swap /stage III. Word to the wise, don't finance mods and performance cars are the worst investment an individual can ever make Trust ME!
if you or anyone else wants more info on the car or current pictures, email me and i can tell you what you need.
