I got an invite to visit a specified Mercedes dealer, to test drive one of the above, and for it they give me a coupon for $75 at amazon.com.
Anybody else get one of the tin cans with an invite?

I'm gonna take them up on the opportunity, I would aim for the C320, i wonder how it will compare...hmmmm any way for the money their asking I'd still wait for the new S4

compared to the A4 or the 9-3 the 230K is way way overpriced, I mean everything is an option, friggin power seats LOL. Dude the 9-3 Vector is $32K even fully loaded with more power and a 6speed. From a larger turbo engine which in no time will be tweaked to like 300hp. The 1.8T for $32K is very nicely loaded, that bratty benz is so much more expensive and for what? I fail to see why I would want a RWD car that costs even more than my audi to maintain and drives nothing like it. I've been in MB's I dont like em, they are bland and rather un-inspiring. I am not moved. I've driven the E-class for more than I care to, BLAH is all I have to say.

A friend and i went to see an auto show last weekend in Memphis, TN. The show has always been held at an agricultural center and was too small for all the cars, so many brands were not represented.

Notibly absent were:
Audi
Volkswagen
Porsche
Mercedes
Jaguar
Lexus
just to name a few.

My friend was interested in seeing the MB C280, so we went to the MB dealer on our way home from the show.

The sales staff sized us up from across the showroom floor and decided we were not 'serious' buyers and got all snooty and kept asking if she could "help us" as we sat in the C280 on the showroom floor and looked under the hood, in trunk etc.

When we asked the salesperson if they would be at next years car show (which will be at a much larger facility nest year) she said car shows were beneath them and no, they would not attend.

Two days later I get an invitation in the mail from MB to see the C230 at the same dealership. I think I'll put on some torn jeans, ripped t-shirt, baseball cap, bubba teeth, muddy boots, etc. and take one for a spin.

Yes I got one, but Mercedes do nothing for me.
