Anybody have any expirence with AXXIS brake pads?

No, but stay away from cheap pads.
The cheapos cause all sorts of problems like screeching noise and pulsating brake action. I put some Mintex (sp?) in recently and am very pleased with them.

Sorry, don't misunderstand. I didn't mean to imply that axxis
are anything but great. I don't know anything about them. I was just saying that once I only could get some cheapo pads at the time, so I threw them in and they were terrible. I recently had time to pull them out and replace with good pads. What a miraculous difference, just from better pads.

Over 18 years worth - Axxis / Repco / PBR
Back in the day they were Repco. I would use the Metal Master's. They were one of the best pads I had found, in terms of better than average stopping decreased dust and little or no squeal. When I first used them on my '83 Jetta back in '85 they didn't work very well until there was some heat in them. Now the temp range isn't a problem. I actually have a set of the ceramic on the rear and will be putting the ceramic on the front when I do the A8 upgrade. Maybe this week end.
