Anybody know what's underneath the stock black molding under our cars? (On the sides)

I mean in the way of ugly, obtrusive mounting hardware, holes, or things of the like? I was wondering if anyone had just removed it for the sake of doing it.

These white clip things. And yes, holes in the door too.

THe clips go into the holes in the door. :-(

Actually, they're not holes..

Well, at least on my '97 they're little posts that stick out at the bottom of the door.

that is correct for all years that have the moldings
