Default wha?????

The Bentley will not tell you that info, and it wouldn't help you if it did. I'm guessing you don't understand how it works.....

The ignition module works like this:
It's an interface between the ECU and the coils. The coils use a large amount of current (5-6amps I think) and the ECU can not supply that much. So the ignition module supplies the necessary current for each coil. I think it also creates the necessary dwell time for each coil.

Think of it as a relay of sorts for the ignition coils, constantly switching on/off, and providing the proper charge time for the coils.

I'm not sure what you're doing, but it sounds like you're wasting time. Just go out and buy the damn thing already!

Default thanks xr4tic...

for your previous posts. i'm acutally an electrical engineer wouldn't you know....but i took the module to my lab and used a 5v power supply, just to be safe, and it looks like pin 3 is the power input pin and sure enough pin 2 on the output was short to ground while the other pins gave me an output. so in the end i guess i'll have to fork out the 250 for a new module...but i did appreciate your previous posts which definately helped me narrow down the problem.

Default Pin 3 is actually ground....

The coils have a constant +12V going to them, and the module provides the ground while charging the coils. The signal from the ECU goes high, then low, to trigger the spark.

It's basically a bunch of FET's, or I should say, really expensive FET's

I've got an EE degree too, but the only time I use it is when I work on cars.....
