Anyone else with ignition switch problems?

Anyone else with ignition switch problems?
I have a '97 2.8 and my car was included in the 2000 recall for a faulty ignition switch. I took my car into the dealer about two years ago and was told that the switch was replaced. My ignition recently broke and I was surprised to have the dealer tell me that the housing of the ignition swith is what gave. I then revisted the recall letter and noted that my car was doing exactly what was described as the cause for the recall...something had snapped and the ignition spring would no longer return the key to the proper position. Based on this, I expected this broken part to be the same thing that was replaced under the recall. I was surprised to find out that only the electric component of the ignition swith and not the entire switch was replaced during the recall. I verified this with Audi of America. This seems to contridict what was listed in the recall letter as a remedy: "Dealer will replace the ignition switch." I believe that Audi did not sufficiently remedy the problem under the recall and that if they had replaced the entire switch (that includes the housing) as stated in the recall letter, my current switch would not have broken. Has anyone else with an early model A4 with the recalled switch expereinced this? I am going to file a report with the NHTSA and want as much information as possible. I believe that this could effect a lot of people out there (at least the 30,000 included in the recall). Please give me your feedback and sorry about the long post. (You can see the recall summary at http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/.)
