Anyone ever get a ticket for an expired license?

Default Anyone ever get a ticket for an expired license?
Whats the SOP for that violation? Did the officer just write you a ticket and tell you to get it renewed ASAP? Whats the officer supposed to do in this situation? Im trying to figure out if what I went through this weekend was neccessary and legally mandated, or just BS. Thanks.

Default Many years ago . . . yes.
I had to go to court and show that I had purchased new plates. I think at the time, court costs were around $30 . . . and that's all I had to pay.

Default Crap, mine is expired too.
I sent in my renewal form a long time ago, but haven't gotten my new license in the mail yet.
