Should be able to do it without taking the steering wheel off.

I did it and I suck at the mechanix. Its pretty easy.

Default Way easier then it looks.

and no you don't have to remove the steering wheel if you are just doing the end piece. I did mine in about 30 minutes with the tools listed in the faq.
