Mine is just fine but it's a push-down unit. I think the problem is with the non-push downs.

Mine is for the pushdown reverse, hence the slop/ziptie mod issue doesn't apply. It reduces the throw 20% from stock and retains the stock height. It is overpriced at retail so try to buy one used since wear should not be an factor. You may also want to wait for the one that Stratmosphere will be coming out with. If not, try to test drive both the Neuspeed and UUC [make sure it's the correct version for your car, ie pushdown or nonpushdown].
