There is no way to get away with this w/o holes is there? in case of removal later

Aesthetics= "look of the thing". Ugly box in trunk. Not necessary to have box for good sound

Default ahh yes, I have been working 13 hours straight, me tired...
To aquire that 'custom' look, which tends to be visually apealling without making any holes, here is what I would suggest.

Lay dow a peiece of 1/4 ply wood or something in the trunk and recover it with some cloth or speaker matt and make it all fit nice and snug. Then mount the speakers to that an just make the piece of wood fit snug also so it doesn't bounce anywhere (cut it to the EXACT shape of the trunk). If your not happy with this, I am sure I can come up with more ideas

Hmmm,...not such a bad idea. Will add a lot of weight though.
