Default Euro plates are legal everywhere.
Now whether you can get away without a US plate as well is a different question... =)

Youre lucky here there are very strict regulations on plates.

I live in central CA, and took off my front plate the day i bought my car. Been a year now, no prob

It is not legal because new york state require vehicles to have front and back plates! But I think you can put it on because the NYPD aint to smart to realize you are a NYS resident!! hahaha

I've gotten tickets for no front plate. I now have both plates up front.

Default NJ Residents cannot get a no front plate ticket by NY Police
it is not in their juristiction to ticket a vehicle that is not registered in NYS. Same with NY Residents in NJ, cannot get tickets enforced since vehicle is from another state.
