anyone know where I can get a high flow cat?
...and would anyone know how much that'll cost me?
I know someone on the site had it up on the classifieds but I don't see it up anymore...my cat broke off of my turbo and the dealer says it'll cost $900 w/o labor...so I figured I'll get a sport cat and have someone install it...
TIA!

hey thanks
Anyone details of performance gains other than what the claims are from the people who sell them? I'm wondering if I should even bother getting a hf cat, or if I should just get a stock replacement....

You're welcome.
For info on this particular cat...look for posts by CharlieGSand or something like that. I don't know his exact SN..but I'm pretty sure he has this cat, so he can tell you more about it.
Yes, I think you can free up a lot of power from just the cat. Many people will tell you that the modern cats are of a much more efficient design than those of yesteryear, which I do not deny. However, they are STILL restrictive. I went from a stock cat to a high flow cat which then developed a crack in it so I switched to a different type of high flow cat. The newer cat felt MUCH better. Placebo effect? Possibly. But my butt sure seemed to feel a difference.
Look at it this way. A dealer has a cat for $900. You can get a high flow one for $695. While it may not flow TONS better, it certainly won't flow any worse. And you're saving $205.
Or, I have a used cat with 45K miles on it. Make an offer if you want it. (It's got cobwebs in it though!)

Here's what I have:
It's a Random Technology high-flow cat.
Here's my write-up: <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/performance/msgs/36497.phtml">click me</a>
In short, the cheapest bolt-in cat out there ($325), it works, but IMO could be better made (see the link). I installed it at 75K, and I've got about 10K miles on it now, with no problems.
