Default ambient lighting. When the parking/low beams are on they are on. maybe even during the day when the
parking/low beams are off but i wouldn't know, i always have my low beams on.

they've got those in BMW's and they provide a nice ambient light like paul said.

it's to cause ambient light so when you are driving at night your eyes don't strain too hard

also you are WRONG. they are map lights for night driving so you don't blind yourself.

Default My fiancee uses em to stare at her diamond at night
They're ambient lights of course. Very handy also, to see where you're hand is reaching at night.
