Default Anyone lost Cruise Control after chipping? Any suggestions?

Finally decided to chip. This is how the car should have come from the factory.
The cruise control doesn't work though. Sent the chip back to vendor but after second install the cruise control still doesn't work. I've also noticed as did my wife that the second time around the chip has less power and the engine is noisier.
No problems with stock ECU.
Comments please.

Default Re: If you are using the chip in a replacement ECU, the vendor has to activate the cruise function..

Thank you.
I'm shipping it back. They told me that they didn't test it on an actual car which has to be done for the cruise control.(?)

Default Can you tell us who supplied the chip?

mm is right, they should already be aware of this. The fact that they aren't is suspect.

Default A little insight--

A4 purchased our V3 chip in a new ECU. The ECU was tested on a new test bench. All APR spare ECU's cruise control are activated before shipping. With his box the test bench had a problem that we were unaware of at the time and the ECU signaled that is was active when in fact it was not. We became aware of this and have corrected the problem with the test bench. I hope this sheds a little light on the subjuct. Rest assured we are fully aware that the cruise must always be activated on new ECU's. I have spoken with A4 and we are taking care of his shipping to get him a spare with cruise.

I hope all have a wonderful 4th of July,

Thanks

Stephen/APR

Stephen,

Have you noticed that I didn't mention the chip's vendor name?
And I didn't have any intention to do so since I'm happy with your customer service - one of the main reasons I chose APR.
Anyway I do appreciate your explanation of the issue to all here.
After all it's good business. ;-)
