Default Anyone try to control X-10 stuff with Homelink?

I have an X-10 reciever, wall switch and remote. With the remote I can turn the outside light on from about 20 feet away. Unfortunately we sometimes park 100 feet away. I have been able to get 50 feet out of reciever if I run an extension cord outside but I still can't reach the car. Has anyone else tried X-10 components? Do I just have a bad reciever? Any other setups you can recommend? TIA

Default I do, but the range is limited

I've got the <a href="http://www.smarthome.com/4005.html">RF base unit</a> and the <a href="http://www.smarthome.com/4006.html">RF remote</a> (they're also available together in <a href="http://www.smarthome.com/4009.html">this package</a>). I have the RF base unit plugged in as close to the driveway as possible and I might have a range of 50 feet.

Default Range Improvements

Thanks, I found that the useable range almost doubles if the antenna is horizontally mounted versus vertically. You may want to try to improve your range.
