I used this very same unit on my '89 TTA...
Since the car was kind of a garage queen it often went a week or two between startups... a lot of my fellow turbo guys made fun of it but I'll tell you what... I think they do make a difference... especially on cold start ups. Downsides... can be $$$ and I had to tap into my oil pan for the pump's pick up hose...<p>J.R.S.

As far as prolonging engine life...
Audi engines properly maintained will last for 250,000 miles and over easily. So, for making engine life last longer it's not worth it at all. The stock Audi filter has an anti-drain back valve in it as well that keeps more oil in the engine for startup and prevents some of what this company is stating. I wouldn't bother. Money spent elsewhere would be more beneficial, ie a chip, suspension, etc.
