Default Anyone want to buy my car, or know someone who might?

I'm tryin to sell my '96 A4 so I can buy a newer 1.8turbo. For the obvious reasons, My '96 is just to dang slow!!! Don't get me wrong, I will kill a Civic, or any other cars like that, but I want the 1.8t. I've got about 5 of them lined up that I could buy, only if I could sell my car. I'm only asking $17,500. Is that unreasonable??? Doesn't seem like it, I am below N.A.D.A. pricing on it. What should I DO!!!????

Go to the dealer, trade it in, eat the loss, and enjoy your new 1.8t!

Hate to tell you, but Civic SI will eat you alive.. and you're new 1.8T until you chip.

Default *Maybe* in a straight line race, If he knows to keep it above 6500 rpm's...

But I cherish the memory of the Civic Si driver who I saw actually beat his fists on his dash in frustration in my rear view as I steadily pulled away from him carving up a twisty canyon rd. In a half a mile I put a couple hundred yards into him. He couldn't keep it in its narrow powerband, and I SAW his FWD plowing across the corners. I waited at the top to be friendly, but he just goes by with his head down. That was when I was STOCK BTW, I'd love to do it again chipped. He'd probably push his car off a cliff in frustration!

umm.. no. Civic SI 0-60 is 7.2 at least 1 sec faster than 96 A4. wouldn't be hard.

Default I've got a few mods to my car

I've raced a few civics and beat them, Maybe they just don't know how to drive or something? Anyways, I want the 1.8t so I can put the chip in, and all the other mods as well.

Default Yes regular Civic (like I've got) no problem (more)

The SI is a 1.6 liter engine that produces 160 horsepower.. that's 100 HP / Liter. This Civic has more "racy" suspension and sway bars. Don't forget it is *considerably* lighter than any A4s. 0-60 7.2 secs.

Regular civics (DX, LX, EX) you'll eat, and unless you have some decent mods, the SI will eat you. Also note redline on SI is 7000 RPM.

Of course we all know the A4 has *much* better styling and comfort! That's why I'm buying an A4.. If I was going just for speed on my budget, it would have to be the new Impreza Turbo (even though it's butt-ugly--yuck)

Default I was talking about his new 1.8T, sure the '96 is going to be slow...

I ran a G-teched run in my 2000 while stock at 7.6 without any abuse on the clutch or tranny at all. Anything less than optimal traction, or any lapse in holding the Si in its power band and Mr. VTEC is gonna be eatin' crow for supper! I readily admit though that with good traction and a skilled driver the Si is going to take it, but not by much. And the proto-typical Si driver (18 y.o. wannabe boy racer) is not going to have the skill to do what he needs to do to take it.
