Everybody here seems to knock it....
but I don't think anybody has actually tried it.
When done properly (keyword: PROPERLY) it can be a very worthwhile upgrade, especially if it's just for occasional use (refilling that bottle every weekend could get old though)
Start small, maybe 50hp shot, and get an Air/Fuel ratio gauge to make sure it doesn't run lean. Running lean is what destroys the motor 9 times out of 10. Too much power can be a factor if your engine internals aren't up to the task, but since Audi makes the motors pretty stout, a 75hp shot or so should be OK once in a while. Stay away from the 2-stage 300hp kits
Again - don't run lean! Also make sure everything is in good working condition. Do a tune-up before hand: plugs, wires, etc. Check the compression and fuel pressure.

your keyword is most's concern here i think...
Properly is very hard, even mounting a tire properly is hard for a lot of ppl somehow.
after all, we are talking about like 10k diff in car value alone. and all the other works that goes into a proper NOS system adds up too.
I agree, most system are not done right. I think the only system i am comforable with is a wet system which means a lot of work and a lot more money.

Please excuse my ignorance......
OK. I know some car basics. But when it comes to certain engine parts, I'm a complete ignoramus. So what I wanna know is... what in the world is a throttle body? From a previous post, I know cleaning it can fix rough idling. But what is it exactly. I've even seen a picture of it - an aftermarket one - can someone say clueless? Oh, and how will boring the throttle body improve performance? If you're feeling generous, you may as well explain how the intake manifold works and why boring that will also improve performance. TIA.
Yours truly,
Ignoramus

Is any tuner really close to finishing their turbo kit? And I don't mean like APR's "next month"....
