Default APR Chipped, now rough idle (repost - kinda)

This is sort of a repost from last week:
https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1693193.phtml

I still have the engine light on. I try clearing the fault codes but they come back every time I turn the car on. That's problem #1. I'm getting VAG-COM in a couple days to check it out, so I'm waiting on that one. Problem #2 is that the idle is really rough - but only when I'm moving. If I'm at a dead stop (or close to it) the RPM sits still at 750 like it did before chipping. But when I'm rolling idle it keeps bouncing between 250 and 500. My car has even died a few times because the RPM's go too low. I tried a few things to try to troubleshoot the probmlem and I found out that having the A/C off as well as my stereo off helps. When I'm running wiht everything turned off it seems fine. Aternator maybe?? But if so, why didn't the same thing happen without the chip?

Also, could problem 1 and 2 be related? One of the times I had cleared the codes I saw it coming on when the RPM went too low once and the battery light went on for a sec.

Any help?!?!?! TIA!

Default You need to run a Throttle Body Adaptation w/ a VAGCOM..

that should solve your problem. I had the same exact issue 2 weeks ago when I changed to an APR chip.

Default Why doesn't it work when I do a TBA through the chip?

The chip I got has that funcion built in.... I tried that and it still happens....

Did you have the same problems as me? Check engine light/ rough idle? It would put me at ease to know I'm not the only one going through this! =D

I had the same issues. The only way I could get it to do the TBA was with the VAG.

Default you dont need a VAG-com to do that...

just put the key in the ignition, and turn it to the electrical on position, DO NOT start the car... let it sit for about 2-4 minutes. Then turn the car fully off, then turn the car on.

Default 17953 I think. A malfunction of the TB controller. Throttle angle was set a zero %...

Went to 3% after I forced the TBA & then ran fine.

Default Mine would not adapt that way. It does not work on 100% of the cars 100% of the time...

I also confirmed that by searching when I was having the problem.

Default I'll try that when I get home.

I have done the TBA a few times after I got the chip but I let the car sit for a while with the key on and after that I usually turn my car on right away without turning it off 1st. Is that my (rookie) mistake?

Have you done it w/ the VAG or the "key on" method?
