APR vs Neuspeed/Borla exhaust sound? (or any other performance exhaust)
I have a Neuspeed/Borla exhaust, and I'm starting to feel like it's a bit a too "ricey" for my tastes. It's sort of got that bumble bee sound, know what I mean? For the last few months I've sort of been denying that it sounds like that, but I'm starting to decide that it really does. Not too bad, mind you... nothing like the obnoxious Civics and such, but it's still bothering me more and more.
And since I own an Avant, the sound comes right into the cabin from below and gets a bit droning on occasion.
Can anyone tell me how the Neuspeed/Borla exhaust sounds compared to the APR exhaust? Or compared to any other performance exhaust? I've never heard any of them in person except for my Borla, so I have no basis for comparison.
Thanks.

Well you've heard the Neuspeed - here's a few soundbytes of my APR V2.0

Definitely sounds smoother based on those sound clips...
Sound clips from within the car can be deceiving, though. Have you heard both in person? If so, would you definitely say that the APR is smoother and less "ricey" sounding?
I know that mine sounds surprising smooth inside my car, but if I roll all my windows down and sort of stick my head out the window, or if I'm in a parking garage, it sounds very ricey.

inside and outside the car the exhaust sounds smooth.
volume-wise it is slightly more audible than stock, but it has a deeper tone to it. Most people that have ridden in my car before and after I installed it can't tell the difference; they always ask if it's a stock exhaust. Sitting at idle you can barely hear it, and highway cruising at 90MPH you don't hear it at all.

Cool. That's exactly what I'm after...
I do like the way the Borla sounds at WOT, with that harsh rasping sound, but otherwise it's kind of annoying. It's good to know that at highway speeds you can't hear it.

anyone with an APR exhaust on an Avant... volume opinions?
When I was first shopping for an exhaust, everyone said the Borla was barely more audible than stock, but that turned out to be false in an Avant, since there is no trunk to muffle the sound, the exhaust tones come right up through the floor into the cabin.
