Default ATTN Canadians: Amazing Clair Parts Express ordering experience.

ordered on Friday and received today (Tuesday) the following:
- left clear corner lens (previous one damaged in an accident)
- coinholder
- 3m headlight savers
- weathertech quattro sedan cargo liner
- cd cartridge
Total: US$183
Shipping (UPS ground): US$11 - NO DUTY, NO CUSTOMS BROKERAGE, NO TAXES
How incredible is 2 working days, and $11 for a 4'x1.5'x1.5' package?
To put it into perspective, I've previously ordered online from Autobahn Int'l, Tower Hobbies, Automotive Supermart, Musician's Discount Warehouse and CDNow and in all cases I was slapped with massive charges stemming from the reality of ordering from south of the border.
For example: For a $149 US piece of music software I ended up paying
Gov't charges:
$14.30 for GST (goods and services tax),
$14.21 for PST (provincial sales tax),
$2.17 Brokerage GST,
$0.28 COD GST Tax
Brokerage service charges:
$26.50 Entry Prep Fee
$4.50 Disbursement Fee
$4.00 CA COD Surcharge
All for a grand total of $65 on top of the shipping charge.
As far as the products go:
- clear lenses: oem bosch i.e. no hassles
- coinholder: as expected it required a little bit of trimming on the sides in order to fit in the armrest. No biggie.
- Weathertech liner: As JT (I believe) mentioned, if you have a CD changer you need to do a bit of cutting. So far I just cut along the holes for the cargo net rings, will be doing the fitting along the changer bit later on. What a difference in quality compared to the LLTek "Made In France" tray - try using a cargo net with that tray. And its pattern matches the OEM winter mats!
- headlight savers: they are pretty thick (2mm), and they fit great. Make sure your headlights are clean and warm when applying them on
- cd cartridge: it's a 6 cd cartridge pretty much
GusS
98.5 30v
No longer the perhaps lone A4 in the world with one European and one N.American corner lens.

I've had major hassle with UPS. Always charges upon charges.
I have stuff send FEDEX from the States. No charges of anykind.

Do mail order companies comply with requests such as having stuff sent with the carrier of your choice?
GusS
