Audi A4 96 - Climate Control Display Problems
My Display has been flickering in and out randomly for the past of couple months. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this same problem. When I go over a bumpy road or when I press the +/- button on the temp or on the fan side sometimes the display will come back and stay for a while. However sometimes it disappears completely and I can't tell what temperature I have the AC set to. It's quite annoying.

bulbs or wires
Pull out your Climate Control panel, and WD40 all the wire connections between the unit and the wiring harness, and then check the bulbs....better yet, if you are going through all the trouble of pulling the unit out, replace the bulbls while you are there.
I have never taken one of these units out, but I figure that it as the standard Audi style wiring harness and bulbs.<p>Christian J. Long

Re: Audi A4 96 - Climate Control Display Problems
I've had a similar problem on my '96 A4 (75K miles). Display flickers, sometimes is out for a while, and sometimes works for a while.
I've also had the sporadic sunroof open/close problem and just last week my odometer display went out (but now it's back).
Anybody have thoughts on whether all of these electrical glitches are tied back to the control unit or should I try replacing the bulbs and checking the connections on the display (although this won't fix the sunroof).
