Default Does anyone really beleive...

that a 1.8T with a K04 running 12 psi boost has 230 HP? An Audi 20V turbo (S4/S6) has almost 25% MORE displacement, runs a full bar of boost (~15 psi) through a K24 turbo with twin catalytic converters, dual exhaust and ONLY makes 227 HP. I don't know, all these "boost upgarde" HP statements sound fishy to me.

I am sure they mixed up the boost number from Stage1 (12lb) and 2 (14lb)

I believe it, don't forget it has an exhaust system and a larger front mounted intercooler. That probably makes up for the missing boost.

Default I believe it with the cams

I have the CDupre .8 bar chip and camshafts which are good for 210hp with the standard K03 turbo. Add the K04 and larger intercooler and 230hp is easily achievable.
Keeping the boost down and adding the cams is a much more engine friendly (though more expensive - in the short term anyway) way to get more hp.
Graham
