Audi A4 or Lexus IS300???
I have an IS300 but have always really liked the Audi A4's. Does anyone know the pros and cons to each one? I am considering getting out of my IS and into an A4.
Are there any deals out there on current models since the new A4 is comming out?
Thanks for your help and I really enjoy your guys site.

Re: Audi A4 or Lexus IS300???
IS300 is a good car but if you are considering an A4... get the 2002 one. I mean if you plan to get the 2001, you will be driving an "old model A4" in 2-3 months. +probably the 2002 A4's pricing will almost be the same as the 2001.

what a question.....
well the Audi will last alot longer then the tin Lexus, Wanna be BMW..lol, if u are getting a Audi get the Quattro and u cant go wrong and yes get the 02' model 230hp and a 6spd, 0-60 like in 6.1-.2 secs. The IS300 remember went after the BMW's not the Audi's since there is no compution, also we have Audi Sport. Matter of fact i smoked a IS300 today, Enough said!

Whatever! In terms of shear reliability you can't go wrong. . .
with an IS300, although mine because of first year bugs had to have 4 radios replaced, however that is better than a blown turbo or "issues" with the "friendly" local audi dealer service dept. I think the japs still make a more reliable vehicle than the germans, however they do lack a certain passion or emotional aspect that makes the audi's so much fun. No flames please, I visit you guys everytime we have a so cal kk run so those of you who know me know I am not a lexus snob or a vehicle brand snob in anyway. I just think this is a loaded question which folks would be very tempted to flame out on. Anyways, hope to see every one this tues at van nuys kk run #9,is it?

Hey Lex, a familiar face over hear, you know if you can swing it how about
an S4? My other suggestions would be an 02 A4 or if you are really in the mood to spend money like there is no tomorrow, how about a C32? My personal favorite.
The only "issue" I see is the fact that there will be first year reliability questions with both the A4 and C32. Plus, folks here are not too happy with there dealership service dept experience.
If you can hold out till next spring 02 theirs going to be a new G35 from infiniti as well as the new Z, I know, very different vehicle, anyways, good luck with your decision. Also, if you go with an audi, you have the vast resource of info from Audiworld.com. and for the most part everyone is very cordial and friendly. Good luck with your decision.

Driven both, own A4
No contest in the real world. IS 300 is more fun on a slalom, but in the real world (where it rains and snows) the A4q wins every time. Also IS 300 interior is tacky, nouveau riche. Fine if you think wearing a Movado, Rolex, or TAG is stylish, but it lacks a little class and subtlety that you will find in the A4...

Just got back from the dealer
It was my first time sitting in an A4. I went to Keys Audi in Van Nuys (it was the closest). Needless to say they had a wide array of models and colors. I sat and test drove the A4 1.8t quattro, A4 2.8 quattro, and a Laser Red S4 (I will explain later).
My impression on all the cars was okay. I must say that I like the exterior much better than my IS but the interior fit and finish and power, I must say is still better on the Lexus.
I was disappointed w/the 1.8t letherette only seating and non-power seats (maybe it was just the dealer, but they were all that way).
The 2.8 was very nice and much quicker (drove 5 spd manual). They all handle great but then again they were all quattros.
So in conclusion, don't hate me, I am sticking w/my IS for now. I like the Lexus overall fit and finish better and the power. Exterior wise, lexus needs to loose those tail lights, IMHO. Audi is much classier looking.
No to the S4...Awesome car!!!!! Just out of my price range. Just for anyone interested...Keys Audi has a Laser Red 2000 model w/ 150 miles selling for $36,000. That is a purchase price. I guess cost is like 37k???? That is just what the dealer told me. I guess they can't sell it. it looks Awesome in that red too. Nice leather sport seats and great power.
Thanks for letting me voice my opinions and keep up the great web site. I wish lexus owners had a site that was this heavily traveled and still maintains a mature attitude (cough,cough..IS300.net..cough,cough).
