Audi needs to hire a new advertising agency!
Today's USAToday and the Wall Street Journal each had a double full-page advertisement for the 2002 A4. It is the same ad that ran in the Nov. Car & Driver magazine. It shows an A4 from the front with a child's slide next to the open driver's side door. The ad reads, "Maybe the fountain of youth isn't a fountain after all."
Is this the best idea they could think of to advertise their newly updated, sophisticated luxury sports sedan? Would you buy this car based on this ad?
I would've designed an ad showing the car maneuvering down a twisting road, extolling the virtues of quattro; or showing it pulling up in front of a country club, emphasizing its classy luxury; or cruising down an interstate at speed, with drivers of other cars straining their necks as they gawk in admiration at this exquisitely crafted automobile.
Sometimes you have to wonder what is the audience Audi is trying to reach. When the A4 came to these shores in 1995, their ads were more exciting. "Get ready for the ride of your life," they beckoned.
Now they're just plain dull. Even Volkswagen has more creative ads.

Oh and your suggestions are any better? They have all been done to death.
I thought the "slide" ad was very creative, but I do admit they need to come up with more than just the one ad.

MB has the best commercials.....
Their target audience is always the right one for the particular model, and always clear. Most of them are easy to watch, with plenty of different angles of the car, and good music.

Better than a f*ckin' slide going into the car.
What's so creative about the slide ad? What does that have to do with driving a sports sedan? And as for the my other suggestions being "done to death," what do you want? They're cars they're selling! To sell food, show people eating; to sell tools, show people constructing things; to sell cars, show ... a playground slide next to a car.
An Audi is different from your sedate Hondas, Camrys, etc. Show something that will inspire the automotive enthusiast who is likely to buy the car.
You can go play on your slide; I'll take the twisty road.
