First off, CGI isn't what you think it is. CGI is an acronym for Common Gateway Interface which is what is generally used on Unix systems to execute programs and pass information to them when accessing certain URL's. UBB would be an example of a CGI.
This forum software technically isn't a CGI, but a script.
Now that's out of the way, UBB sucks, really bad. It would fail miserably at the traffic levels we generate here. It could never run this site.

UBB would have no problem running at this level of traffic.
None at all. Look at VWVortex.com for example. It gets quite a bit more traffic than AudiWorld, and uses UBB without a hitch.

I was always told the advantage of running a UBB was with high levels of traffic...
