Auto Tranny fluid change

Thanks for the advice. 4Driver4, you didn't actually answer my question. I was asking how others' transmissions are working after their fluid/filter change. I am still awaiting feedback from Hanshy about his job that he did almost a year ago.

Alright! Well I am convinced. I think I am going to change it in the next few weeks. I am getting my parts from ECS Tuning. 6 liters of fluid, filter, 2 new plugs and a seal. $132.00, which is a great deal if you get all of that stuff separately. With everything I've researched, Pentosin seems to be the #1 pick for value and quality. Thanks again guys!

What ever you do, DO NOT FLUSH YOUR TRANS. Drain the trans and change the fliter. That is a must. Change the fluid every 35 to 40K and you will be ok. Please do not for get to clean the pan. I have an A6 2.7T and it took 9 qts to do mine right.

ATF/filter changes run me around $65. Filter kit from Autohausaz.com $25, and 7 quarts of MaxLife Dex/Merc ATF.

The gasket is part of the filter kit, also the rubber filter sealing ring. My suggestion for the red sealing ring is to wipe a thin film of Vaseline on it rather than ATF, otherwise it may bind when pushing the filter into place. Wash the pan and magnets carefully before installing the gasket, also wipe the sealing surface of the transmission case clean; I use industrial grade isopropyl alcohol. I also smear a thin coat of automotive RTV sealant on the pan, position the gasket, then another coat on the top surface of the gasket.
