Default Automatic bucking, driveline bang normal? semi-long

Just dropped mine off at the dealer for this problem. Bucks intermittently when driven between 1500-2000 rpm. '97 1.8T auto, 26K miles. Another A4 owner told he has the same thing with his 2.8. The dealer had told him this is normal for this car. My car seemed to develop this problem just recently. Does anyone else notice this? Is this indeed normal?

Thanks, Mike

Default Don't know if it's normal

But mine does it occasionally. It seems to have a lot to do with driving technique on my car (97 1.8Tq auto). The information from sensors seems to confuse the computer at low speed, low load without using the brakes. It seems to get into neutral instead of downshifting, then after beginning to accelerate, it realizes downshifting is necessary, and Wham! I can avoid it by consciously backing off the throttle early, or giving it more throttle before it gets into the neutral zone. I've never told the Audi dealer about it, so I don't know what their posiiton is.
