Freezer test seems to prove that, yes, TCM has gone bad
The site you mentioned doesn't have the one I need.
The module is rebuildable for this problem for $350, though I'm going to keep shopping around for a stock TCM because I'd need a spare to do that anyway.

did you call them? only a small fraction of their parts are in their ebay store.
I think parts is only a sideline for the repair business, but I know they've dismantled numerous A4's and stored the parts.
