Avalon is finalizing details on new B5 A4 Big Brake Upgrade....

Yeah, looks like B6 300mm s4 rotors and calipers are best avail now. I am wanting a set of front 14"
ceramics, and a set of 2 piston 322mm rears. They would need some research to match piston size for proper proportioning. If this happens (and it probably wont) I would be doing it myself (and I dont have the equipment to measure or the access to the various calipers to test) and 15,000$ to get that done would be waaaay down on the list of places to blow money. I guess I need to just buy the parts for the rear s4 stuff and forget the rest. I was thinkig about taking my car the rest of the way to full race and do time attack on a serious level, but I enjoy driving it on the street too much to do all the spherical mounts/cage/etc. and the things I would want to do like the brakes required to be competitive are just too much money.

Real brakes

that certainly is a VERY nice bit of brake kit...
but I am sure you would agree, totally overkill for a street car. At that point, i think it's just bragging rights....and furthermore, the tires/grip becomes the weak link to a great braking system.
I usually tell my customers to get a nice 4-pot brake kit that will fit under 17" wheels, and get proper cooling to the rotors. I've done this up to 600+hp and have yet to find them inadequate. Sure the rears could be a little larger, but again, too much just adds mass that isn't necessary. Good cooling back there will help a bunch as well.

Well, here is what is available....
We can do the B5 S4 rear brake set up with an aluminum adapter, and run a 300mm x 22mm B7 S4 rotor w/ the B5 calipers. That would probably help substantially.

Not quite ready to buy yet, I have two sets of S4 rear rotors to burn through first. Although, I...
...have another question. Is the B5 S4 pad the same size as the B7? Just asking because I want to make sure that the B5 pad fully sweeps the B7 rotor. I think something looks wrong when it doesn't -- kind of like the Boxster caliper on an A8 rotor. They just don't look like they are made for each other....
