back from infiniti and audi dealers!!!

Re: It's up to you, but you really get what you pay for.
So tell the Audi dealer the same thing more or less. I got my '00 for about $500 over invoice. 26,700.00 w/ quattro, cold, conv, sport wheel and cd changer. Look for one on the lot since they are more willing to negotiate with the price than a custom ordered one. As for the Infiniti I agree with people that you should compare the a4 to the 3 series since they are both german and in the same class...you'll see that the a4 is a steal. JMHO and $.02.
Bottom line it's your choice.

My input....
$1200.00 over invoice is not that bad of a deal for an Audi A4. You're not indicating whether your deal is for a '99, '99.5 or 2000, is it a 1.8t or a 2.8?? Have you gone to several other dealers or are you too lazy?? Well, have you looked elsewhere?? If you feel like this is your final decision, you have one question to answer.
Do you want the better car, or do you want the better deal?? Give it a day (or so) and then make your decision. You will make the right one.

Interior puts infinity to shame
the quality of the plastics, vinyl, etc are beyond excellent. The receptionist at my work just got the g20 and already regrets it after finding out how much the audi was and how much nicer it is inside and out. The a4 makes her car look like a toy side by side.. My two cents.. if you can...you might be able to wait until September and get a MY2000 when the 2001 is coming out and could get one close to invoice, but the car is selling so well it might be tough.. Just get the audi...you won't regret it.

There's a reason they sell them at invoice...
They have to sell them at invoice to sell them. Do you really want to purchase a car that, when forced to compete in th emarket on it s own merits, sells so poorly they have to give it away? You get what you pay for. Besides, what is 1200 in the scheme of things? You're purchasing a 25000 plus car?

Invoice price
When the Infinity dealer claims that you are getting the car at invoice, it's not really true. They probably don't mention the fact that they get almost 3% as holdback. Audi on the other hand, doesn't have holdbacks. Just be sure to factor in holdbacks and any dealer incentives so that you get the real price. No one is going to sell you a car at zero profit!
$1200 over invoice on an Audi isn't bad around this time of year, you can probably get a better deal toward the end of the year. I paid $800 over in November.

Re: back from infiniti and audi dealers!!!
Look at this way, in three years you decide to trade in for another car. Audi, you should get whatever the book opens for(good condition) on the other hand, Infiniti would be 2-3000 back of the book(Kelly or NADA). You pay more for an Audi rihgt now but should get more back at the end...
Hope you are in state that Audi is in good demand.
