BAD ABS sensor?

BAD ABS sensor?

I did the clean job for both Front ABS sensors. Everything fine. When I moved to rear tire I could only jiggle sensor a quarter turn. Lubed up still no luck to remove. So I figured leave alone. When I started car the abs and brake lite came on. No abs brake function. Took to dealer and sure enough they hooked it up to computer and said that sensor is bad and want $300 to replace. Any sugestion?

When you said"Leave it alone" did you re-insert the sensor?

cause if its half-in or out,its normal for the ABS system to shut-off,re-insert completely and see what happens

I never removed at all. Could not budge even a fraction. I thought of that and tapped it to make certain it was all the way in. Still no luck. Supposely the dealer checked to see if the ring? was coroded or missing but no answer there either. Baffled
