Battery Power Loss
Well my car is down to 1-2 days of charge and then its dead. Thats partly because the battery has been drained so many times and the battery hasnt been fully recharged but its getting really annoying. Anyone have a similar experience before I go poking around? What are the chances its one of my aftermarket amps? Mind you they have been installed for quite some time.
Oh and I did have the battery tested and its fine.

turn the stereo off and go for a drive.....
how many amps is your stereo using? you may be keeping your battery in a constant discharge mode. might want to get the alternator checked to see if it's still putting out full power.

Have your alt tested...
They have equipment that can measure the current the alternator is putting out. It uses this reading to tell if its charging the battery sufficiently. Small drives and starting are the worst on batteries especially if its on its way out. I would take it to someone you trust and have them test the alt. It can all be done while its in the car. The terminals just hook right up to your battery terminals while its in the car and only takes 5 mins.
Its something we can do ourselves and is quite simple so dont let someone suck you into a $300 bill for labor. That is if you need a alt replaced.

Yeah, I guess looking at the alt first is a good idea. The stereo isnt that bad...
was just wondering if its possible it suddenly is drawing power when it should be off.
