Battery Voltage
I have been watching it for a while and my volt meter for my battery is always 14V+. is this normal? Seems a little on the high end to me, especially considering the extra electronics I have (stereo, etc) and also since I am always using the seat warmers.
I have been watching it for several months now and am wondering if there is any way this could have been a causal factor a week or so ago when I was stranded due to an ignition coil going south.
Thanks
Shane

FYI... lots of new A4s are plagued with ignition coil failures...
There is apparently even a TSB issued by Audi on this subject, but I think it only covers the B6 platform, not sure.
This guy on the '02 forum made it his his second job to compile ignition coil failure-related user data...

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/169610.phtml</a

That is the reading of the charing system
If you want to see if you are pulling too much power from the battery run all your stuff with the motor and watch the gauge. If it stays at 12 then your fine, but if you see it bouncing around or dropping then you have a problem.
The battery has nothing to do with your coil going out.

Re: Battery Voltage ( It should be around 14 volts)...
The battery voltage on any car should read about 14 volts when the vehicle is running with most accessories turned off. If it starts rising above 14.5 volts or dropping to 12 volts and lower, then you got a problem with your alternator, usually a voltage regulator problem. It is normal, however, to see the voltage drop to near 12 volts, but not lower, when you have many accessories running ( lights, A/C, big stereo, etc.)

Re: Battery Voltage ( It should be around 14 volts)...
Even with both seat warmers, stereo (2 amps, HU, etc), heat, lights, etc it was still slightly over 14 today.
