Default Before I kill somebody - All season tire help

Please recomend the best all season tires for my 98' stock, 17", sport package rims. I know I should buy two sets, but I just can't right now and my OEM tires are shot and terrible in the cold and ice. Thanks

Default the stock rims on your '98 are 17s? ....

Have you tried searching the archives for answer? This question comes up on average once a day.

Default But would you recommend them for year round use?

Remember, he's got 17" rims...not sure what he's looking for, but I'll bet money he wants a high performance all season tire.

I've got the Nokian WR's, and I wouldn't even think to put them in the same category as SP5000's or Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons.

It all depends on what he's looking for.

Default The V rated WR in 17" does decent in the dry...

Advantage is once he decides to get some dedicated summer tires, the WRs can continue to be used effectively as a winter tire.

Default Well, I agree about it's use as a winter tire...

but not so much about it's dry grip. It's good, but not "high performance" good. I locked up 4 wheels on dry pavement at 90 mph, under conditions that were optimal for good traction. With a good high performance all season, that would NEVER have happened. Push them and you'll see.

I wouldn't be happy running these tires for four seasons. I'm extremely happy with them for the winter season though.

Default I wouldn't either..

But I also wouldn't be happy running an all season all year long.. hehe ;-)

I have the NRW for winter... Will get 17" WR V rated once I can buy a big brake upgrade.
