Default I tried a pair of those and they both rubbed in either setting (due to lowness) so I sent em back

I wanted em to work so badly... thought they were really cool. But any end-link that is straight with no bend in it's length risks rubbing these axles. I've seen one pair of those on an S4 that rubbed the black aluminum hex body cleanly in half. But since they're aluminum at least they dont hurt the axle.

And I think I paid AWE maybe $150 for them. My junkyard gems cost $5 for both. Not to mention a half hour sanding, cleaning and painting.

This is crazy that no one makes a decent end-link for these cars that works, problem-free first time, every time.

Don't even think it!! I got my hands full with control arms!

Default HOLY CRAP bro you have them in upside down :-(

I'm amazed they haven't rubbed yet. They're tapered at the bottom to allow a bit more clearance for the driveshafts...do you have any rubbing issues with that?

I have the Neuspeed 19mm bar...I had it on soft and it rubbed the shaft...so I got a new one from Cust perf and he made me some spacers to move my sway bar back about 0.250" even then on soft it's a bit tight IMHO...so I'm using the bar on hard now.

Default No rubbing here, 14" axle to lip with H&R c/o's

Have the rear bar on soft setting. Been there for almost a year with the H&R's

Default You've honed in on something james that I think is critical here.

I think the Neuspeed bar is being made haphazardly with regard to arm length/hole location. The holes are spaced peoperly apart but seem to be arbitrarily located wwithin the arms end. I called the friend I who's car I did earlier today and his bar arms are 3/16" longer from the straight section that pivots in the urethane bushings than my arms are. The two holes in his arms are also 1/8" more forward than mine.

Shimming the sway bar with some 1/4" plate stock between the bar and the Neuspeed mounting bracket would move the sway bars a corresponding 1/4" further away from the axle. No telling how many Neuspeed bars are out there with similarly "long/short" arms/pilot holes or of knowing how short/long they are.

Truth be told if Neuspeed would just be a bit more careful and precise in manufacture or QCing sway bars made for them none of this "shimming" and/or cutting/grinding arm tangs would be necessary in the first place and the adjustable Heim joint end-links would work fine without rubbing in any/all hole settings at any height or shock/spring combination.

It's the swaybar tolerances that are varying so greatly... not the cars suspension or the adjustable end-links.

Default Correct...actually if you want to hear something really $hitty

When I first put the CP links on my car in the soft setting... I took the car out for a shakedown. Came back and checked everything out and found that the drivers side was rubbed all to holy heck :-( But the pass side wasn't affected at all, as a matter of fact there appeared to be TONS more room on the pass side than there was on the drivers side...so not only do the bars vary from example to example...but they vary from end to end on the same freaking bar :-/ I put in his spacers...then I tore down the suspension on the drivers side in the rear and put it all back in w/o a spring (I was putting in my stasis suspension at the time)...so I had just the damper. I moved the shock thru the full range of motion like this and even with the spacers I had to use a shim gauge to get an estimate of the clearance...it was something like 0.030" totally out of hand...so I moved the bar to hard and haven't rubbed since.

FWIW my Neuspeed bar...then ends are radiused...not nipped off flat, so maybe mine is newer? I can't remember exactly how it looks.

James R.

Default Yep pretty sure...if you flip them over there's more clearance

mine were rubbing on the skinny part...so imagine if the big end were facing down ;-(

Default FWIW...

The ends of my Neuspeed bar are rounded as opposed to being cut square. I also have no signs of any rubbing whatsover. The bar is installed on the stiff setting on my car.
