Default BIG trouble..possibly Timing Belt

Story is that I was driving and all of a sudden the steering gets hard look at my volts and they dropped.. so I knew it was the drive belt..pull off and see that my drive belt tentioner locked up.. So I try to get it home but then my car just stalled.. Couldnt figure it out and I thought it was just the battery going down..I changed the drive belt and tensioner and still wouldnt start.. pop the timing belt cover and the belt isnt moving when I turned the car over.. Devasting..there still feels like there is tension on the belt but no movement. My question is that could the valves be ok even though this happended..I just dont want to get this done and end up having to do the heads too..

It would help to know which engine you have, but it probably needs a few valves.

Default When the serp belt goes, it can wrap around behind the crank pulley, force its way under the lower..

...cover, and displace the timing belt.

Probably just a few vavles. Get a belt back on there and do a leak down test.

Default at this point whether or not it was 30k miles, doesn't fix your bent valve issue. I would have

liked to see proof of when/what was done. I had a 1.8T in a Passat, and 1 mile from my mechanic (to do a timing belt change) the belt broke. It had 186,000mi or so on it..... I was bummed.

I had a serp tensioner fail a couple years ago, I guess I was pretty lucky as it just hung there.
