I have a few quick questions. 1.) With a 1.5 Bar chip in a 97 a4 1.8T what does everyone's boost peak at and what does it end up at at redline? 2.) Does a chip change the amount of fuel that goes into the engine or does it just chnage boost and timing and let the MAS control fuel let in. 3.) How much boost does a tt225 run, before a chip and after?

1.5 bar? that seems a bit high for the k03, i think max on it is really like
1.25 bar, but anything above 1.0 bar starts to not be totally ideal (this from apr)...something about the turbine not really spinning faster, just more heat.
anyways:
1) don't know, i run 1.0 bar, and don't (yet) have a boost gauge
2) i thought there were new fuel maps/timing changes in chips. this would probably be best directed at who you're getting your chip from, as some may change them while others may not.
3) according to the thing im reading from the models section, it runs 2.1 bar. but i think this doesn't account for atmosphere or something, because that seems WAY too high for a k04. im guessing more like 1.1 bar stock, 1.3-1.5 chipped.
especially judging from the 180 hp running 1.8, that seems reaaaaaaaaly high. would guess .8 bar there too....i think atmosphere is 1.0 bar. something like that. yeah. 1 bar, 14.psi. i think. i dont know. its late.

Re: well, i lop on up to 5300 when passing on side roads...so its not drag racing....
THis kid I know has a tt 225 and we raced on the highway and I had a full car load in my 97 a4 1.8T, and I only had the boost at 10ish, and he beat me fairly easily. He said he is running around 22 or 23 PSI, is this possible. He has a chip a borla exhaust and a intake. Can u gus estime his 1/4 time and his boost from the work he has done. I know that he has the same engine in his car as mine, but with a biggr turbo, so for him to be making 225 horsepower stock he must be running like 18 psi or so, right?
