Default boost...

Am i suppose to be at full boost when i shift or is it suppose to peak then go down when i'm about to shift and then peak again later on??

Default boost will start to drop off around 5-5500 rpm, then you shift and it goes into vaccume

once the car is back in gear boost will jump up to normal levels until you start getting higher in the rev range where the boost drops off...(this is at WOT)

at partial throttle you will most likely not be hitting peak boost much of the time.

So when do you hit peak boost?? between half throttle and WOT?? like 3000-4500 rpm??

depends on the chip but generally: at WOT holding that amount from 3500 to 5000/5300rpm

Default Thats funny, my car is hitting 18-20 psi by 2200 rpms and I have a K04.

But then I also have a 2032cc motor in my A4.=P

BTW I just swapped out the stock pipe for a 3"/2.5" race pipe and my 20 psi hits a little higher in the rpms now and I am able to hold that to 6K rpms. I guess the stock cat was making just a little too much back pressure for the k04 on this new motor. I will test it this friday at the 1/8th mile track again and see if it helped to open up the top end power of the car now. That was the big problem I was having since the car had no power in the high rpms.

How much boost are you guys getting out of your chips. My GIAC on K03 peaks to about 22 psi in fourth and fifth and holds up there after about 3500 rpm's.

Default so if i'm losing boost as i go more in rpm then whats wrong??

I think i'm reading my Vag block 115 right, cuz it like peaks at like 2200 or 2400 but then drops to like 1800 or 1900, then when i shift it goes back up to 2200 and then drop back to like 1800 or less... but this is only for 1-2 (little boost), then on 2-3 (boost goes up and down, almost out of room and almost WOT), then 3-4 i always run out of room... =) So is it becuse i'm not WOT the whole way and need more room to do a real run?? or should i just go get it dynoed??

Default A K03 and K04 cant hold a set boost level to redline

which means the turbo is going to hit full boost lower in the rpms, then hit full spool at mid rpms where the boost level will start to drop down.

Default That is normal for the Xchip. My custom GIAC chip which I was using early last year made

up to 24psi in all gears.
