last week my car yelled at me that i have a brake light out(left rear). I replaced the bulb (noting the "old" filament looked to be intact) with a new one. the brake light still doesn't work. all of the others work just fine(running lights, rear fog, hazards...) any ideas

Whats the connector look like?

The connector looked fine, no noticeable damage or corrosion, everything looked great based on inspection. Could this be a fuse problem?

Did you get the correct bulb? Look at the old one and the new one. Are there one or two contact points on either?

I believe it was the same bulb, i don't remember if it had one or two connection point though

Might want to check. If it is the correct bulb, might want to make sure the metal clip is making good contact with the bulb and isnt bent down too far.

Somewhere else I read that the wires pass by the trunk lock and could be broken. Might wanna check it out.
