buzzing from speaker
When I am listening to AM stations on my 96 A4 non-Bose stereo, there is a frequent buzzing that comes from the front passenger speaker. It only seems to happen when the fan in on and only on AM... My guess is that there is some interference being caused by the fan that is being heard through the speaker..
If anyone has any ideas, I would LOVE to pass them along to the dealer as they seem stumped!
It is interesting that this only happens on AM. That may suggest that the signal is coupling into the tuner possibly through the antenna. It will only show up on AM because FM does a better job at surpressing interference. If the antenna wire and fan wire are close, then separate them. If that still does not work, get a "ferrite bead" and clamp it on to the fan wire, as close to the fan as possible. This is a small cylinder that you probably have on the end of some of your computer cables. A computer component store like "Frys" will have them, maybe Radio Shack. Look for a one that is split and you can snap it on. It also helps to loop the wire through the ferrite a few times. This should work. Please let me know how it works.
