A/C Problem
When it is extremely hot outside (85+), my A/C is acting strange. The sound is like it is switching back and forth between the fresh air and recirculated air. It will be cool, and then something will click and the blower re-engages and it will be warm, then vice-versa. Once it gets cool, it blows cold, but until then, it seems to go back and forth like it is confused. It also works fine when it is not so hot outside.
Also, once in a while when the AC is on, I'll get a short squeal/vacuum noise under the hood that I can actually slightly feel as if it zaps engine power slightly for a second. Not sure if this is related. It doesn't happen all the time.
Any advice before I get it looked at would be greatly appreciated. It is a 99.5 1.8TQMS.

sounds like an interior temp sensor. you can check for faults without a vag/com....
